Study Smart with AI

Study Smart with AI is a course for Secondary 1 to 4 students. It teaches study skills first, then shows students how to use AI as a revision partner. Students always try the work on their own before AI comes in, and then use it to quiz themselves and find the topics they are weak in.

What does a student learn?

After the course, a student will be able to:

Quiz themselves with AI to find their weak topics, after trying the work on their own.
Turn their own notes into a mind map and a revision plan, using AI to help sort them.
Write a short, honest note of where they used AI in a piece of work.

Why do students practise noting where they used AI?

MOE allows some secondary school tasks to be done with AI. In those tasks, MOE says, "students must state where they have used AI and cite the sources of information." Students practise writing that note on their own work, so it is a habit before a teacher asks for it.

Does the AI do the work for the student?

No. Every exercise starts with the student's own attempt. AI comes in afterwards, to quiz the student and point to the weak topics. National exams stay AI-free; MOE's words are "National exams continue to be proctored, and use of AI is prohibited."

Which AI tools does the course use?

The course uses AI tools whose terms allow users aged 13 and above, with a parent's consent where the tool asks for it.
