Guitar Programme

The Guitar Programme teaches students to play the guitar in a class, starting from chords and simple accompaniment. MOE primary and secondary schools and international schools can book it, and organisations can ask for it too.

Primary school pupils sitting cross-legged on a classroom floor, each playing a classical guitar.

How is guitar different from ukulele?

A guitar has six strings and a ukulele has four, so guitar chords need more fingers and a longer reach.

What do students do in the programme?

Students learn chord shapes and strumming, then play songs together as a class.

The programme sits under the Creative Mind, one of the 3 Minds our programmes are built on.

Which schools can book it?

MOE primary and secondary schools, and international schools. Organisations can ask for the programme too. Tell us the level and the number of students you have in mind, and we will plan around them.

How is the programme set up for a school?

Every school's needs are different, so we agree the number of sessions and the group size with each school before the programme starts. Send us your term dates with your enquiry and we can begin from there.

Usual number of sessions, and who supplies the instruments: To be confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

  • Who can book the Guitar Programme?

MOE primary and secondary schools and international schools can book it. Organisations can ask for it as well.

  • Can the programme be adjusted for our school?

Yes. We agree the number of sessions and the group size with each school, because no two schools need the same thing.

  • Should our school choose guitar or ukulele?

The ukulele has four strings and a small body, which makes it easier for students who are starting out. The guitar needs more reach and more fingers per chord. Tell us your students' age and experience and we will suggest one.

  • How do we book or ask a question?

WhatsApp us on 8883 2156, email enquiry@connectlearn.net, or send an enquiry through our contact page. Tell us which programme you have in mind and a little about your students.
