Ukulele Beginners Programme

The Ukulele Beginners Programme is for students who have never played the ukulele. They learn their first chords and use them to strum songs as a class. MOE primary and secondary schools and international schools can book it, and organisations can ask for it too.

Rows of primary school pupils sitting on a hall floor, each holding a ukulele, with soft cases beside them.

Why start on the ukulele?

The ukulele has four strings and a small body, so a student can hold it comfortably and play a song with a few chord shapes.

What do students do in the programme?

Students learn to tune the ukulele and to change between their first chords in time with a song.

The programme sits under the Creative Mind, one of the 3 Minds our programmes are built on.

Which schools can book it?

MOE primary and secondary schools, and international schools. Organisations can ask for the programme too. Tell us the level and the number of students you have in mind, and we will plan around them.

How is the programme set up for a school?

Every school's needs are different, so we agree the number of sessions and the group size with each school before the programme starts. Send us your term dates with your enquiry and we can begin from there.

Usual number of sessions, and who supplies the instruments: To be confirmed.
