Chinese Cultural Drum Programme

The Chinese Cultural Drum Programme teaches a class to play Chinese drums together, each student on their own drum with a pair of sticks. MOE primary and secondary schools and international schools can book it, and organisations can ask for it too.

Primary school pupils sitting on a hall floor, each with a small red Chinese drum and a pair of drumsticks.

What do students play?

Students play small Chinese drums, one each, with two sticks, as the class photograph shows. The drums sit on the floor in front of them, so a whole class can play in a school hall without stands.

What do students do in the programme?

Students learn drum patterns and play them as one group, keeping a shared beat.

The programme sits under the Creative Mind, one of the 3 Minds our programmes are built on.

Which schools can book it?

MOE primary and secondary schools, and international schools. Organisations can ask for the programme too. Tell us the level and the number of students you have in mind, and we will plan around them.

How is the programme set up for a school?

Every school's needs are different, so we agree the number of sessions and the group size with each school before the programme starts. Send us your term dates with your enquiry and we can begin from there.

Usual number of sessions, and who supplies the instruments: To be confirmed.
